Dan has always enjoyed being a trial lawyer, arguing on a client's behalf before a judge or jury. In an era where trials are becoming more and more rare, Dan's trial-ready approach to litigation usually proves the old adage that the best way to resolve a case is to get ready to try it. The recognized ability to successfully try cases opens doors for innovative solutions that can dramatically reduce the expense of litigation. And when a motion to dismiss is unsuccessful or mediation does not work, Dan is ready to represent his clients' interests without hesitation.

Dan clerked for a federal trial court judge for two years after law school. He then tried cases as a municipal prosecutor, criminal defense attorney and civil practice trial lawyer in Michigan and Illinois. After that, he spent nine years at the largest law firm in Oregon focusing on commercial, construction and products liability litigation. At Fucile & Reising, Dan will use his experience and trial skills to emphasize products liability, commercial and design professional litigation.

His creative approach has led to outstanding results for a variety of clients. Some recent accomplishments include:

Products Liability

Dan tried a two-week jury trial arising out of alleged defects in hay balers and hay swathers. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the client.

Products Liability

Dan has co-chaired trial teams representing Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation in asbestos litigation in Portland, Oregon and San Francisco.

Construction/Commercial Dispute

Dan successfully enforced a settlement agreement in a multi-million dollar construction and commercial dispute. The trial led to dismissal of plaintiff's claims against Dan's clients.

Architect Malpractice

Dan obtained dismissal of a multi-million dollar wrongful death action brought against a Portland architecture firm.

The desire to be the best trial lawyer he can be has also led Dan to take an active role in the training of other attorneys. Dan has organized and participated in trial practice training and was the partner responsible for the professional development of lawyers in the trial practice group at Stoel Rives. The same ambition led Dan to become involved as the publications liaison for the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel. In this role, Dan regularly publishes articles and case notes on areas of interest to trial attorneys. Dan is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbel.
